'Auto Orientalism' is an ongoing series about Turkey and its people in the 21st century. 
This word is a neologism, referring to a commonplace psyche observed in urban, westernized Turkish middle classes while they experience the social and political changes of the past decade marked by rapid privatization, commodification and the rise of conservative values in Turkey.
