EKİN ÖZBİÇER (1984) lives and works in Barcelona and İstanbul.
While studying Ceramics at Marmara University Fine Arts Faculty, she started working as a photographer’s assistant. After graduation, she moved to Prague to study Photography at FAMU.
Her work mainly revolves around finding and curating a continuity of often whimsical images, exploring aesthetics of mainstream culture and documenting relationships between architecture, environment, social structures and the individual. In her photography and video works, she tries to reflect the relationship between people and social fabrics with a realistic perspective by treating architecture as a subject as well. She also does fashion photography and editorial photography.
Her works have been exhibited at Gallery Kavarna Lucerna, Prague (2012); Gallery Torstrasse161, Berlin (2013); SALT Beyoğlu, İstanbul (2014); Ufat Photography Days, Bursa (2015); Kasa Galeri, İstanbul (2016); Depo, İstanbul (2018), İstanbul Billboard Festival (2020) and Pera Museum, İstanbul (2022).
She is an affiliate of PLATFORM by GAPO.
