EKİN ÖZBİÇER (1984) lives and works in İstanbul.
While studying Ceramics at Marmara University Fine Arts Faculty, she started working as a photographer’s assistant. After graduation, she moved to Prague to study Photography at FAMU.
Her work mainly revolves around finding and curating a continuity of often whimsical images, exploring aesthetics of mainstream culture and documenting relationships between architecture, environment, social structures and the individual.
Her works have been exhibited at Gallery Kavarna Lucerna, Prague (2012); Gallery Torstrasse161, Berlin (2013); SALT Beyoğlu, İstanbul (2014); Ufat Photography Days, Bursa (2015); Kasa Galeri, İstanbul (2016); Depo, İstanbul (2018) and İstanbul Billboard Festival (2020).
Her latest project is an instagram account: hurriyetemlakblues. It’s a collection of found images depicting the curious taste of Turkish interior design, sorted out from popular real estate portals.
She is an affiliate of PLATFORM by GAPO.
