MELİKE KOÇAK (1997) lives and works in İstanbul.
Following her undergraduate studies in Philosophy at Galatasaray University, she is currently doing her MA in Design at Kadir Has University, where she also works as the photography lecture assistant.
Her work mainly focuses on perception, immersive alternative realities, and the deconstruction of human-made systems through personal narratives.
Her works have been exhibited in Mixer Gallery, İstanbul (2022); Galeri 5, İstanbul (2020); Hayy Open Space, İzmir (2020); Mamut Art Project, İstanbul (2019) and Fotografevi, İstanbul (2018).
She has participated in the ‘Image Threads Mentorship Program’ with Dylan Hausthor (2021) and the ‘Little Things’ artist residency at PASAJ (2019), and was selected for the Canon Student Development Programme at Visa Pour L'Image Festival (2020). She is listed among ARTPIL's ‘30 Women Photographers Under 30’ (2022).
She is the founder of Fabrika, a zine and an online platform for emerging Turkish photographers.
She is an affiliate of PLATFORM by GAPO.
