GİZEM CAN - PRIMARY
In 'Primary', I try to demonstrate a waiting process and the concept of time itself by objectifying it, with the help of primary colors. This is an indefinite waiting process. I visualize this process which gives the impression that time, which brings boredom along, is relative and travels infinitely.
Similar poses in the same space and recurring phone images resemble a waiting for the future that may never come. Leaving an overturned coffee on the table to dry, shows its abandonment in time like a sculpture. The captivity of the feet and the restriction of movement in this narrow space, which is only two steps away, echos a plucked flower that is doomed to lose its present appearance after a while.
The waiting process, which is reflected in the photographs, also refers to the viewing period of the photographs, and thus seizes the time of the viewers and therefore exists over and over again.
